Emotional contagion

Yves Tumor grew up in Tennessee, where he carved out an artistic personality that, over time, has grown into one of the most unsettling figures in experimental soul. Tumor is a member of the Dogfood Music Group collective, which also includes Mykki Blanco, and the NON Worldwide family, bringing together part of the diaspora of African artists spread throughout the world. A few months ago, Sean Bowie (his real name) released his long-awaited debut album, “Serpent Music” on the PAN label. The album was originally conceived as a compilation of temperate and emotive soul songs that he had been recording since 2013; But over time Tumor began to integrate other elements including lo-fi psychedelia, delicate experimental electronica and ambient passages that trigger more abrasive noises. These sounds seem to form a world as disturbing as his alter ego, opening up new emotional chasms. His is a kind of abstraction and reinterpretation of gospel soul, which he will preach from the all-new SonarXS stage.
