Toxe’s raw but complex productions (created in her home studio before her final exams) belie her angelic appearance. “I need to slap the audience around the face when I'm in the DJ booth” she says. At barely 20 years old, Toxe (Tove Agélii) is part of the new breed of Swedish artists that have caught the attention of niche music media and fans. She is defined geographically by the emerging Scandinavian scene (she lives in Göteborg), but has admitted, on many occasions, to prefer living in isolation in her own self-created world. That said she is also a member of the Staycore crew, the platform from which she perverts musical genres with skeletal compositions perfect for sweaty dance floors. She has also dared to remix songs as diverse as “Toxic” by Britney Spears, and “Psychosocial” by Slipknot.
