Their vast knowledge of music history (both in dance and non-dance genres) is demonstrated in mind-boggling sessions filled with rarities that they alone seem to posses, which they masterly select and mix, always with exquisite taste. Averse to the mainstream and the predictability of typical 4x4 sets, Optimo opt for exciting and unconventional music, with sets comprising of all kinds of styles: funk, techno, dub, post punk, electro, house and beyond. JD Twitch & JG Wilkes have been releasing the very best in underground dance music in every possible guise for almost 20 years. It all started in 1997, with the Optimo nights at Glasgow's Pure club. Their reputation soon began to grow across Europe, which saw them share their wisdom and skills on compilations, mix-cds, remixes and edits. In 2009 the Optimo Music label was born -run by JD Twitch- releasing material by some of club music's new heroes including: Golden Teacher and Boot & Tax; recovering lost albums by Peter Zummo or Muslimgauze; while also releasing material from Daniel Avery, Chris Carter and Dub legend Denis Bovell, among others. No one else is capable of bringing together in a single set such hedonism and erudition.
