    Sónar by Night - SonarLab

Perfect electronic pop

Little Dragon return to Sónar. The Swedish group has a special relationship with the festival, having previously triumphed in front of an enthusiastic audience with their effusive and brilliant electronic pop. This year Little Dragon will perform for the first time at Sónar by Night, on the SonarLab stage, where they will present their new album, due for release in April. While we wait for more news, the band led by the charismatic Yukimi Nagano continues to offer occasional concerts and has collaborated with other artists including De La Soul (also present at Sónar 2017), who recruited them to the studio to participate on a track for their latest album.

There are many groups that combine pop styled choruses with electronic rhythms in their music, but very few do so with the flair and originality of Little Dragon. The Swedish quartet, formed by Nagano (vocals), Erik Bodin (drums), Fredrik Källgren Wallin (bass) and Håkan Wirenstrand (keyboards), connects directly with their audience via songs that somehow manage to simultaneously sound melancholic and euphoric, always enveloped in inspired melodies and an extremely detailed production style. After four albums; collaborations with Gorillaz, Flume, DJ Shadow and SBTRKT; and more than a decade together, 2017 marks the year of their return to the studio and to the stages of Sónar, where they will always be welcome.
