    Sónar by Night - SonarClub

Exclusive set

Jon Hopkins will offer one of his rare and exclusive DJ sets at Sónar 2017, while still completing his fifth solo album, whose title remains unconfirmed. He will perform on Friday night on the SonarClub, stage; a fitting backdrop for his richly deserved star status on the international scene. Hopkins' perfectionist and meticulous nature will ensure a uniquely crafted session. In fact, the Englishman typically reconstructs and edits some of his own material to play in his sets, which may also include some compositions that will form part of his much-anticipated new LP, more details of which to follow soon.

Hopkins' discography is already bulging at the seams with albums, remixes, collaborations, and works in a variety of artistic disciplines. His most recent album "Inmunity" achieved great success being nominated for the Mercury Prize in 2013 and was praised unanimously by critics and audiences alike. Hopkins has also worked closely with Brian Eno and has been recruited as a producer by David Holmes and Coldplay, whom he supported for 6 months on their 2008 world tour. Also noteworthy are his established alliances with musicians such as Leo Abrahams and King Creosote (on the album "Diamond Mine"), his remixes for Nosaj Thing, Four Tet and David Lynch, as well as the pieces he composed for "Entity" by British choreographer Wayne McGregor, among many other works.
