    Sónar by Night - SonarClub

A fresh house experience

Jacques Green will touch down at SonarClub on Friday night to play one of the festival’s most sought after DJ sets between the performances of Moderat and Soulxax. This March the Canadian DJ and producer releases his new album on LuckyMe, the popular Glasgow label that in recent years has taken him under their wing. The album entitled “Feel Infinite” made in collaboration with How To Dress Well revolves around “a record about the utopian idea of club culture – music about the club, as well as for the club in and of itself”. His presence at Sónar by Night will be anything but utopian, it will in fact be an authentic dance music set mixing emotive acidic house with beats approaching funk and hip hop.

Over the last decade Greene has been instilling new innovative ideas into house music. If in recent years the genre has undergone a revival, entering a more dynamic epoch, it is partly thanks to artists like Greene. The man from Montreal has released on several key labels on both sides of the Atlantic, including Night Slugs, 3020, LuckyMe and Vase (his own label), and has collaborated with Radiohead, Jimmy Edgar and Tinashe among many others. His evolution has far exceeded expectations and the timing is perfect for his visit to Sónar, combining the freshness of a Greene who is still a young man with his years of experience at the forefront of the house music scene.
