Wisdom that comes from experience

Eccentric and charismatic, Damian Lazarus knows exactly how to take his sets one step beyond the imaginable, with his incomparable selection and execution. His experience and discerning taste will be on show for all to see at Sónar 2017, where he will offer one of his unique sets in which techno bangers coexist alongside classic soul and rockabilly in a totally coherent and consistent fashion. Lazarus also stands out for his ability to discover potential dance floor hits before anyone else, allowing him to always travel with unreleased unheard material in his suitcase (or on his pendrive). During these sets, the blissfull experience of dancing while being amazed by the choice of music is 100% guaranteed.

At the start of his career in music, Lazarus (who currently resides in Los Angeles), was A&R for the City Rockers label, releasing music by artists including Felix Da Housecat and Tiga. He soon founded his own label, Crosstown Rebels; a launch pad for the likes of Jamie Jones and Art Department, which also saw releases from Laurent Garnier, Seth Troxler and Maceo Plex among many others. In addition to his role as a respected ambassador for the British scene and his long history as a DJ, Lazarus boasts a distinguished discography as a solo artist. This includes various 12", an LP on Get Physical, all kinds of compilations, collaborations with regular accomplices and most recently several EPs released under his The Ancient Moons moniker, together with James Ford of Simian Mobile Disco and a number of different vocalists. Lazarus never stops moving forward.
