Throughout his career as a DJ and producer, Sam Shepherd aka Floating Points has shown himself fascinated by the emotional potential of even the most seemingly out there and abstract sounds. An active digger and sonic explorer, his b2b sessions with Dan Snaith (Caribou) and Kieran Hebden (Four Tet) at Plastic People are the stuff of London club legend, while his recent LP with the late, great Pharoah Sanders and the London Contemporary Orchestra, placed him on numerous end of year lists. For this live set at Sónar by Night, he’ll be once again pushing at the outer limits of club music, building on the modular synth work outs of recent single Birth 4000.
