The Canadian master returns to Sónar to present “Vinyl Vaudeville 2.0”, a new cabaret show featuring dancing girls, robots and gigantic turntables that pays homage to the burlesque world that is vaudeville. This all-out extravaganza relaunches his album “12 Bit Blues”, full of tracks evoking the rural American genre like no other. His brilliant combination of scratch, blues and vaudeville once again confirms Kid Koala as a tireless virtuoso eager to show off his breathtaking skills on the decks and beyond. Kid Koala is Canadian Eric San, one of the top turntablists in the world, as well as an accomplished composer, musician, DJ and author of graphic novels. He has supported Björk, Beastie Boys and Radiohead and worked with Gorillaz, among many others, and released a number of albums on the prestigious Ninja Tune record label. His scratching goes above and beyond simply showing how it’s done: he weaves spellbinding narratives through his phenomenal technique and effortlessly pulls off stunts such as handling eight decks at a time and doing live battle with the rhythm section of Australian rock band Wolfmother.
