In German "Gesamtkunstwerk" means, an ideal (or total) work of art, in which music, visual arts and narrative are mixed. However "Einstein" could be taken as a reference for the highest form of human intelligence. Combining both words we obtain Gesaffelstein, the artist name under which Parisian Mike Levy is concealed and whose project reconciles techno with its industrial roots, and who now expands his sound further with his debut, "Aleph". Idolized both by the underground and mainstream (he collaborated with Kanye West on "Yeezus" and has remixed Lana Del Rey, Justice, Laurent Garnier and Depeche Mode), Gesaffelstein is now undoubtedly one of the French scenes’ most celebrated artists. Living up to his name, Gesaffelstein controls absolutely everything about his live show, from music through to lighting, thereby achieving a powerful bond between the audience and the music.
