The new star on Brainfeeder is the Chicago born youngster Jeremiah Jae. Multi-talented artist, producer, MC, re-mixer, visual artist, and talented multi-instrumentalist. His music slots perfectly into Flying Lotus’s label for its abstraction and coherent psychedelia, and also for its upfront refusal to be categorized. Jae is not paired with anybody and gathers whatever suits him from the broken down electronics, 60’s pop, Martian hip-hop, cosmic jazz-funk, or even the spoken word or film soundtracks. He’s just edited the surprising “Money EP” on the LA label, and his debut LP is just round the corner. One to watch out for.
